Dr. Jay Han is a chiropractor in Portland, OR. He was born in Taipei, Taiwan and raised in beautiful Vancouver, BC. He developed a passion for medicine and the human body from a young age and pursued his dreams to becoming a physician obtaining a Bachelor’s degree at the prestigious University of Toronto. He furthered his studies at Simon Fraser University enrolling in graduate courses and spending three years researching the role of anti-oxidants in brain cells of Parkinson’s patients under the tutelage of Dr. Frank Lee, PhD. Dr. Han was also privileged to work as a teaching assistant for the Department Biological Sciences teaching classes in human biology, physiology, molecular biology and laboratory sciences.

Dr. Han spent a summer as a research intern at Taipei Veterans General Hospital’s Neurological Institute where he developed an interest in spinal injuries and pain management. He noticed patients suffering from pain were recommended pain medications, muscle relaxers and eventually surgeries yet a significant number of patients fail to respond to treatments and end up more debilitated. He wanted to find a less invasive and more natural solution. He moved to Portland, OR and graduated cum laude from University of Western States with his Doctorate in Chiropractic.

He gained valuable experience providing chiropractic care while in clinical training at Outside In, a health services center for homeless youth and other marginalized people in downtown Portland as well as Health Centers of University of Western States. He was also able to serve as a volunteer chiropractor abroad with Spinal Missions providing chiropractic care in El Salvador where he got the opportunity to bring healthcare to underserved communities.

His objective is creating a paradigm shift away from conventional pain management reliant on medications and invasive procedures. His unique experience as a researcher, educator and a doctor allows him to bring a multifaceted approach to educating patients to consider all natural and non-invasive alternatives through chiropractic care first.
